Feeling Good
This won't matter remotely to you if you're subscribed to my RSS feed, but I've put up a new layout for fall. I was sick of the previous one almost as soon as I put it up, and I wanted to create something that was the complete opposite of my usual style, and see how I liked it.
I love the way it turned out, and it's a nice change from a lot of graphics and visual clutter. I wanted something clean and simple, and I think this accomplishes that pretty well. I still have some tinkering to do. Speaking of fall, there really is nothing like the cool, crisp first days of autumn, when the leaves are on fire and you feel that flutter in your chest. Autumn is my favorite season, and unfortunately here in Ohio, it's also the shortest. We get a good month of real autumn before the freezing winds of winter start to set in and things get wet and grey, but man those first couple of days are so worth it. It hasn't really felt like summer all season here, which is nice because it isn't too hot, but I'm still getting antsy for autumn to get here. Autumn just feels like home.
Not to mention I'll be shooting the majority of my sister's senior photos in the fall, because not only does it make for a beautiful backdrop, but the reds and yellows and browns compliment her hair color and her skintone really well.
We went out earlier today to take a few test shots, but I ended up liking a few of them so much that they'll be included in her final set of prints. We went driving around and stumbled into this cute little nook, with stores that were located inside old buildings with some really cool architecture. Below are some sample shots, and I've also posted some on my Flickr account.
We had a lot of fun, and I'm really excited to scout a few more locations. She's also going to choose a few more outfits/hairstyles, so that'll take some time. The best thing about what I do is being able to give priceless memories to the people in my life like this. I'm so used to shooting Alex that I'm going to have to train myself not to talk to other clients like I do with her, since she's used to my quirks.
One more thing, does anyone else use Tumblr? I've had the account for a while, but have only recently started to really use it. I love how easy it is to share stuff quickly, and they make it even easier by having everything right on the dashboard. I'm looking to find some interesting Tumblelogs to read, so if you post there, feel free to leave your link in the comments.

I like this layout, it looks really nice. I definitely think you got what you were looking for out of it.
I’m with you on Ohio autumns. It’s my favorite season here as well. I wish it lasted for months, though I suppose we should be happy we have an autumn at all :P.
Very different from your previous layout, but I love it. The colors are wonderful. =)
I have my own Tumblr, and I do like it because it lets me post small tidbits. Photos that I find interesting, or music I can share with others. I’ve followed you, btw.
I love the photos you took of your sister. I had my senior portraits done through the school, and they came out very plain and boring. Your sister will definitely be happy; the background is amazing!
