Gratitude: A New Project

So I've decided to start a new project here. There's been a lot of negativity in my thought patterns lately, so to counteract that, as well as spark some creative energy and motivate myself to post more, I will begin posting something I am grateful for once or twice a week, totaling 100 things.

Other people have probably done this before, and I'm not quite sure where I came up with the idea but I think it'll be a good thing. Especially if I've had a bad week and am having trouble counting all of the ridiculous blessings I have in my life. Because honestly? Shit could be so much worse, even on the shittiest day you've ever had. This is my way not only of coping and gaining some kind of catharsis, but it's also just a more concrete way of saying "Shut the fuck up, life is good." to myself.

These will go in no particular order, and sometimes they'll be small things, and sometimes they'll be big things. Either way, I'm incredibly blessed and this will help me to realize that and really utilize the fact in my daily life.

Gratitude 001: Jack

I'm grateful for my dog, Jack. His full name is Downtown Jackie Brown Cameron, and he's a 6 year old Jack Russell Terrier. I am a complete dog person through and through, and he brings me so much joy on a daily basis. I'm lucky to have him in my life and I care for him as if he were my own son, minus well the fur and the fact that he's a different species. There really is no way of describing the kind of bond that can form between human and canine, but if you're a dog person, then you already know exactly what I'm talking about.

Beautiful photo of your sweet dog! And, great intention for your new project.
Coincidentally, my Quaker parrot is named Downtown Curly Brown.
Also, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your “About Me”. You should add writer to your list of creative endeavors.

I like the idea, it reminds me of ‘Grace in Small Things’ (http://graceinsmallthings.ning.com/).

Life IS good, it’s just that the bad is more noticeable.

Wow, such a great idea. I wish I had a dog, I know the special bond that can form. I can’t wait for the day I can get another dog. :) You are very lucky.
