Migraines & Toothaches

I've been feeling pretty horrible lately, and I'm just now starting to feel at least like a functioning human being. On Monday night I was up until 4am with excruciating molar pain for unexplained reasons, which then magically went away the next day. I guess magical really isn't the right term to use, unless you believe in the Magical Vicodin Fairy. I'm already regretting typing the word "Vicodin" because I just know I'll have to delete 400 spam comments out of my Akismet later on today.

The next day I had to take my sister to get a root canal (go figure) on a molar that she had broken more than completely in half. Now, I've had more dental work done than anyone I know. The things I've experienced, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, so needless to say it was pretty traumatizing for her since she's never had a serious procedure done like that. She was a little shaken up which in turn made me emotional, because wouldn't you know, apparently I'm now a woman going through menopause.

Anyway, I'm not sure whether it was the harsh florescent lighting in the dentists office or what, but I could feel the beginnings of searing migraine pain. Fabulous. So, I was up until at least midnight last night enjoying the head-splitting and nausea, so today I'm still a little groggy/gaggy, which in my brain clearly means "OH MY GOD YOU HAVE THE SWINE FLU/CANCER/SOMETHING ELSE SCARY AND PAINFUL AND TERMINAL."

While recovering this morning and working on some stuff for clients, I received 3 emails asking me where I get my inspiration for color in my projects, both web design and life art related. I also sent this to one of my clients to choose a viable color scheme, so I figured why not share it here and answer everyone's questions at once.

I keep dated color swatch files on my hard drive of colors that I frequently use together, and usually use them when I'm having a hard time picking colors that are cohesive for a project. My Swatches tab in Photoshop is a disorganized mess, so I started creating these swatches with complimentary colors, and colors that I just thought looked great together. I've been in art classes for the majority of my education, and have a vast knowledge of color theory in regards to two-dimensional design, so color is kind of my thing. I figured I might as well share it with you guys, in hopes that I can help bring you out of a color slump.

Enjoy! I'll be working on client projects for the next several weeks but I do plan on getting to a major overhaul of this website eventually, including organizing and putting all of my downloads together. See you kids later.
